In the Bones Revisited

I assisted at "In the Bones" in April 2009 along with Claudia and Ursula and got to play Chickens and dinosaurs again! This time I didn't even make it to being human, I just kept being sent back down the evolutionary trail. But it was still fun and I can console myself with the thought that I am still evolving, as a person and a coach.

Chickens and Dinosaurs

Why was it so much fun? What did we learn? How can we bring some of this into our daily lives?

The coaching playground model

This is my interpretation of the CTI coaching model. The four cornerstones are shown as cloumns. The frame of the swing is the big A agenda, firmly anchored in the same ground as the columns. Coaching takes place in the tire, which is the dynamic part of the model in which fulfilment, balance and process take place. Although dynamic, it is connected to the big A by the chains. The client can sit stand or lie in the tire and has to do the work to make it swing. The coach is on the ground by the swing. S/he has the big A clearly in view and calls the client forth from this place, although the coach might ocasionally give the client a push. The tire also represents the designed alliance and the tread of the tire is formed by the 5 contexts or skills that keep the coach in contact with the client in the same way a car keeps in contact with the road.
